Compatible with any headphones

HearO is an adaptive, context-based audio control technology that offers True Noise CancellationTM by recognizing situations to automatically adjusting the audio setting, while giving users effortless control to accept or reject alerts from the outside world.

2.png

Today, noise cancelling headphones cancel all sounds, however some sounds are very important to hear for safety and social behavior. Some headphones have different ANC modes, but they have to be manually controlled in an app. HearO’s Intuitive, effortless, gesture commands leverage AI-based detection to reduce false positives and allows users to easily interact with incoming alerts from the outside world.

Voyager - 2019

SEA(SAMsung electronics america) customer service

1.png

A samsung customer care device

Voyager is a smart IoT hub that allows users to conveniently identify any attention (Notes, alerts, notifications, maintenance, services, etc.) that smart appliances and products need within their home. Users can simply notice the alerts even by just looking at it from afar, due to top part of Voyager levitates up and show sign of light.

Example of how Voyager notify user.

3.png

Other than customer care services, Voyager can also help you with transitioning your personal data from old device to new device without worrying about security. Voyager have a built-in Knox security that monitor over your data.

SAM - 2019

1.png

Smart assistant with mobility

SAM is a voice assistant bot within your home that is available anytime and anywhere you are. It is capable of following a human in an autonomous way in indoor space. It combines 3 main components: Vision, Sound and Navigation. Using the cameras, SAM can follow a person once it has detected that the user has used the trigger word.

These are some of the highlighted use cases with SAM.

3.png

User can attach different kit on top of the speaker unit anytime they need something else. Simply lift and take out the previous kit and drop in a new one.

Example of a projector add-on for entertainment purpose.

6.png

Example of a drone add-on for security purposes. Although SAM can be highly mobile, it has its limits when user’s home are two stories high and more. In order to resolve this obstacle, we decided that when there is some suspicious activities are happening on the second floor of the house, SAM can deploy a drone to serve aa second eye for home security.

The Offline Crypto Wallet is a hardware device that helps people living in remote locations with exchanging goods and value using cryptocurrencies. It brings the security and benefits of cryptocurrencies over cash, while allowing trustless exchange in locations where internet connectivity is lacking.

IOT MOdule APP NOTES WALL 2017

1.png

After the ARTIK module showcase at the IoT World conference (Below thread), ARTIK was invited to showcase its IoT capabilities at the Samsung Developer Conference. I got to help them with designing the wall consisting of App Notes (App Note is a guide information on how to use certain capabilities of a technology).

8.png

What is app note?

App note is a step by step guidance on how to control IoT services. Since there are a lot of capable features within Samsung’s ARTIK module and customers are not fully capable of utilizing them right away, ATIK created guidebook for each of the features. Above is the example of one of the app note.

3.png

This was basically the GP on how we wanted to display the app notes. Every individual hex boxes are installed with LED lights so when a person click on a specific app note on the tablet for more information, that specific hex box will light up.

4.png

We wanted to test if this works as it was planned and also wanted to see if it will bring us the attention we intended. So I had to handmade each and every hex boxes (used for the final presentation too) and worked with the engineers to make a proof of concept.

7.png

After we finished the proof of concept, we worked with an exhibition vendor to specify the wall and to be created for the Samsung Developer Conference.

I also handmade display cases for ARTIK modules to go along.

iot in industrial field - windmill

ARTIK platform team wanted to showcase a specific use case during the IoT World conference. They wanted to show how ARTIK can impact industrial field with prediction and analytics. Windmill one of the good examples and wanted to make a demonstration out of it. This is one of crafty ones I have done so far.

Landscapes were handcrafted and windmills were bought and built from landscape figures. It was combined showcase with the Babble project (See below thread).

These are the final outcomes of the enclosure. The case was intended to display the developer kit modules in a nice way by hiding additional components attached to it.

IOT Module Packaging 2016

New Packaging for ARTIK

As ID8 design team was a close collaborator to SAMSUNG ARTIK, we were able to redesign the packaging for their new line up of IoT Platforms.

2.png

3.png

These are examples of the modules that I needed to do packaging for.

12.png

Hex + Facet

ARTIK team wanted to continue having hexagonal shape for the overall packaging since it relates to their logo, but wanted some excitements from details. I thought having facetted detail would make the packaging look more agile (in relate to computing) so took the inspiration from there.

8.png

Left example is the key inspiration to the facetted graphic created on the right. And it was implemented onto the flat walls of the packaging design to make it look more 3 dimensional.

4.png

These were the final round concepts and due to simplicity, first image took the crown.

ROSETTA

TAMING YOUR HOME

Technology should improve simple tasks in our lives, making it more easier and convenient by adapting to where we live. Rosetta is a collaboration project between Schneider Electric and Samsung, to use ARTIK integrated IoT hardware and cloud platform to provide users with a more convenient and seamless integration to control Schneider Electric's dimmer switches and other IoT devices at home.

IOT HUB FOR YOUR HOME

Rosetta is powered by ARTIK gateway module. Connecting it to a Schneider dimmer switch and the cloud allow users to remotely control lights from anywhere, with in or outside of the home from mobile app.

Rosetta was a 3 week quick turn-around reference project. Rosetta CMF consist of being placed in a living room and should be something like a home-good accessory or a prop, not distracting the environment too much yet you see when you need to.
