UNIQLO DRINK SET REPRESENTING THEIR NATIVE

Name Uniqlo comes from the words “unique” and “clothing”. They are well known for being a simple and clever clothing brand that features high quality, functional and affordable products. The goal of this project was to think forward and see where they might expand the Uniqlo market into. 

 

 


BRAND FROM OVERSEAS

Uniqlo has a strong desire to communicate itself as a brand from Japan. Japan has a lot of traditional cultures they enjoy even today and also known globally. There is a strong opportunity for Japanese traditional products / items that can become a part of Uniqlo’s product line.  

 

 

 


DRINKING CULTURE

Japan has a huge culture of drinking tea or sake for both men and women. Traditionally, background music is played as a custom when drinking either of those two beverages. Uniqlo is celebrating this culture of music and drinking by integrating today’s technology. 

 

 


ALL YOU NEED

The Uniqlo Drink Set comes with two tea cups with sake cups, a sake bottle with speaker attached on the bottom and a bowl dish for snacks. It is made out of ceramic, and wood is applied as an accent.

 

 


TEA CUP AND MORE

The tea cup can be separated from the bottom so the wooden piece can be used as a sake cup. The wooden sake cup gives out an oriental look and also symbolizes the Hinoki wood box, commonly used to serve sake traditionally. 

 

 


SHARING DRINK, SHARING MUSIC

A speaker is attached at the bottom of the drink bottle. The cover of the speaker is dome shaped to stop liquid from going in, and as a secondary safety measure, the inside of the speaker case consists of a waterproof rubber mold. The speaker is Bluetooth enabled, allowing anyone can share music through their device.

The packaging was inspired and themed around the Japanese culture and perspective on bento boxes
